Correction of wrinkles with hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a natural and primary component of the skin. Owing to its hygroscopic properties, hyaluronic acid has the ability to bind large amount of water, in particular, is a reservoir moisturizing the skin from the inside. The acid also stimulates the production of collagen fibers and prevents the creation of free radicals.

Decreases with age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin which in practice often results in loss of elasticity and flexibility of the skin leading to the appearance of wrinkles. In a forty-year-old person, hyaluronic acid is estimated about half less than in a 20-year-old one.

Fillers based on hyaluronic acid have been used in aesthetic medicine for many years. The medical products which aim at the reduction and filling of wrinkles and furrows shall contain hyaluronic acid cross-linked with internal intermolecular bonds. The medical formulas available on the market differ in the degree of cross-linking, as well as the size of particles and the concentration of hyaluronic acid. The medical products with a lower hyaluronic acid concentration have a delicate consistency and are used to reduce fine lines. The medical products with a high hyaluronic acid concentration and larger particles have a more dense texture, so they are used to rebuild the volume in the areas of the sunken skin.

The effect of the treatment lasts from 9 to 12 months.

At Derma Point, the best formulas of renowned companies, such as Restylane, Teosyal, Juvederm available are used which allows us to ensure the highest quality and safety of treatments performed.

Step-by-step treatment description

The treatment consists of injecting a cross-linked hyaluronic acid formula with either a needle or cannula use. The depth of injection depends on the type of a formula used as well as the depth of the wrinkle. The needle treatment requires punctures along the furrow or wrinkle. Most often, the needle when lifting the corner of the mouth and filling the wrinkles of the forehead is used. Most treatments using hyaluronic acid are carried out using flexible cannulas. Regardless of whether a needle or a cannula is used, the effects of the treatments are the same. The cannula, due to its blunt ending, increases the safety of the treatment and reduces the risk of bruising at the injection site. After the injection, the medical product is gently massaged by the specialist carrying out the treatment. The effect of the treatment is immediately apparent and intensifies in the first weeks after injection. The effect of the treatment lasts from 9 to 12 months, depends on the patient’s age, the type of a formula used and lifestyle. Directly after the procedure the skin in the place of therapy may be red and slightly swollen. There are also points of needle penetration into the skin.
